Key Areas of Responsibility
- Security monitoring and incident management, through the use of a security event management system, intrusion prevention systems, vulnerability scanning tools and end point security solutions
- Identifying/tracking down computer platform vulnerabilities and ensuring that the appropriate containment and/or remediation are invoked
- Administering application vulnerability scans and coordinating remediation activities;
- perform information security risk assessments and serve as an internal auditor for security issues
- Install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot security devices; review network security designs and make recommendations
- Lead information security audits and assessments and administer and maintain security profiles and authorizations for end users in production systems
- Evaluates customer security policy to ensure it is in compliance with Corporate and Federal security control requirements and produce audit reports for management and letter of compliance for customers/strategic partners
- Provide consultation to membership and strategic partners on application and network security best practices and establish and report on metrics to measure effectiveness of the security and compliance framework and publishes metrics reports.
- Assists in the Business Continuity, Incident Response and Disaster Recovery program, working with business leads to help facilitate the business impact analysis, plan development, table-top sessions and DR tests.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Skills & Responsibilities
Key Requirements
- MUST PASS 10-PRINT FBI BACKGROUND CHECK
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Security or related field or at least 5+ years of related experience in an Information Security role
- Cisco Certified Network Associate Security (CCNA-Security) Certification Required
- Knowledge of information system architecture and security controls (i.e. firewall and border router configurations, operating systems configurations, wireless architectures, databases, specialized appliances and information security policies and procedures)
- Must be able to effectively interface with system administrators, network engineers and software developers to ensure all potential avenues of intrusion are minimized and mitigated.
- Knowledgeable in current security industry solutions, best practices, developments and trends and strong IT background/understanding with respect to networks, servers, workstations and applications.
- Strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of network based attacks and mitigation. Attack and Penetration experience in testing of Internet
- infrastructure and Web-based applications utilizing manual and automated tools
- Strong analytical skills with good verbal and written communication skills including documentation of findings and recommendations
- Good relationship and collaboration skills within a team as well as with technology colleagues and business
