Program Manager -- Business Transformation

Job Description

Overall Purpose

This position provides overall governance, operational leadership and Senior Leader council related to the strategic management of the Enterprise initiative portfolio. This role will act as a trusted advisor to Senior Product Leader and lead financial planning, project communication, project/program reporting, risk/issue management, product/program interdependency planning, and overall program adherence to compliance, security, and PLC standards/practices.   Develop, Build and sustain productive working relationships with key stakeholders and ensure key project information is clearly communicated to drive fact-based decisions and improve project performance

 

Essential Functions

 

  • Lead coordination and development of project plans with relevant PMs for initiatives supporting the product and/or infrastructure portfolio.
  • Ensure plans incorporate PLC standards, including metrics, benefits, dates for each phase, and known dependencies.
  • Lead in the activities and deliverables required for project reporting, issue management and resolution, project plan updates, and preparation for major milestones (such as quality gates)
  • Ensure that major documentation deliverables are captured and stored in corporate repositories. Track dependencies with other related projects, applications, and teams.
  • Consult with business leader(s) to ensure transparency to relevant information that will drive key business decisions
  • Determine and implement the communications needed for ongoing program management, and negotiate issues between individuals or teams working on projects in the portfolio to minimize miscommunications and delays. Identify and escalate program issues to minimize potential schedule impacts.
  • Act as key stakeholder single-point-of-contact for assigned Program and assist systems and infrastructure management with providing customer timely/accurate information
  • Ensure key stakeholders are routinely updated on important project/program health metrics to facilitate optimal decisions, drive awareness and increase value product releases and infrastructure delivery
  • Monitor, analyze, forecast and communicate project/program financial performance to vested stakeholders, team members and key leaders. Provide variance commentary as required
  • Support all internal and externally driven audits of Product Line/Infrastructure projects in partnership with Project Management leadership (i.e. Bank audits, SOC II, OCC, and PMO self-audits)
  • Performs program level governance review of all associated projects within a program to ensure they are tracking to be on time, within budget and defect free to ensure customer and key stakeholder value commitment

Skills & Responsibilities

Minimum Qualifications

 

 

  • Education or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Engineering, Computer Science or related field.
  • Ability to handle multiple complex projects, to work independently, have excellent follow-up, and meet tight deadlines for deliverables.  Possess excellent analytical and problem solving abilities, and be able to deal effectively with ambiguity and constant change
  • Ability to translate complex technical jargon into business language that can be easily consumed by all key stakeholders
  • Can assess and prioritize risks and articulate mitigation plans in a manner that resonates with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Effectively manage a portfolio of projects having insight to key interdependencies, strategic alignment and resource constraints (people, process and technology)
  • Expert knowledge of the PLC process and key success metrics
  • Effective at setting expectations and holding multiple resources accountable to all key health metrics of a program
  • Confidence to make tough or unpopular decisions for the good of the program
  • Broad and deep business product knowledge
  • Clear understanding of how key initiatives in the program drive financial metrics
  • Ability to drive key decisions and behaviors at all peer levels to ensure effective management of the program
  • Trusted advisor of key stakeholders
  • Ability to effectively deliver presentations at all levels of the organization
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Effectively cascade critical information (balance of positive and negative)to key stakeholders in timely manner
  • Balance strategic and tactical information given audience
  • Ability to effectively understand who needs to know critical data and when based on the strategic imperatives and project life cycle

 

Preferred Qualifications

 

  • SCRUM experience
  • Bachelors and/or Masters in Project Management
  • Professional certifications in project management and process improvement desired.
    • PMI credentials in project/program/portfolio management (PMP, PgPM,PfPM)
    • SCRUM Alliance credentials (CSM, CSP)
    • Six Sigma, LEAN, CMMI, ITIL or other equivalent credentials
  • Experience in risk management, fraud prevention, and/or new product development of fraud prevention software solutions.

Prior work experience in Banking and/or Financial Services Industries.

 

Physical Requirements

 

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
