Overview:
This position is the first level within the Online Advisor job family.  Under supervision and upon completion of an initial training and certification process, the Online Enrollment Advisor is responsible for working with prospective students through technology resources, such as conducting telephone and computer-based interviews.  The process includes all phases of the Online Admissions process from marketing the program with students to qualifying them for enrollment.  The Online Enrollment Advisor is able to resolve most enrollment questions and problems and refers only the most complex issues to higher levels. 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Completes institutional certification process and training to develop broad Online Admissions knowledge as well as other student success departments such as Financial Aid, Student Services, and Career Services
  • Applies EDUCATE Core Values in the completion of all job assignments
  • Networks and develops professional relationships to generate personally-developed inquiries
  • Provides excellent customer service to students through application and enrollment process
  • Screens potential student applicants and conducts scripted career planning sessions by phone
  • Assesses prospective students to ensure they have the potential, traits, characteristics and financial wherewithal to be enrolled through graduation
  • Conducts personal interviews to qualify candidates and to explain academic programs
  • Advises students in program selection, registration, etc.
  • Provides general customer service and assumes full accountability for students from enrollment through graduation
  • Facilitates interdepartmental communications between Admissions, Financial Aid, and Student Services for the purpose of enhancing the Admissions Process and student success
  • Adheres to laws and regulations governing student recruitment activities as well as Allen School of Health Sciences Conduct and Ethics
  • Completes other projects and duties as assigned
 
 

Skills & Responsibilities

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required
  • Previous admissions experience helpful but not required
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills are required
  • Must be self-motivated and be able to work effectively in a team environment
  • Capacity to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Background working in a customer service, retail, or recruitment environment is helpful
  • Moderate to intermediate PC skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Internet applications, and database management software required, CampusVue knowledge preferred
