Human Resources Generalist

Job Description

The Human Resources Generalist will provide guidance and assistance to facility leadership teams in support of employee relations matters, leadership training, and other functional areas within the Human Resource function. In addition, this individual will assist in the implementation of policies and procedures through proactive site visits to ensure the facilities maintain compliance in an efficient manner.
HR Generalist duties and responsibilities include:
  • Administers HR programs, policies, practices and processes
  • Provides day-to-day Human Resources support and partnering to all managers
  • Pro-actively identifies potential issues, concerns, and opportunities, and works with Senior Manager, Human Resources and operation managers to develop plans that address key issues.
  • Works closely with recruitment team to streamline the staffing process by helping to draft job descriptions and by participating in the team member selection process when required
  • Evaluates new and existing positions by analyzing position duties and responsibilities to determine appropriate classification and salary levels; conducts desk audits and facilitates the re-classification process as necessary.
  • Documents current compensation processes and policies.
  • Assists with new employee on-boarding and training
  • Educates and counsels employees to make them aware of and understand company benefits, compensation, and incentive plans.
  • Assists in the facilitation of the performance management/performance appraisal process
  • Provides guidance to managers in support of employee career development & planning.
  • Consults with departments and field managers on employee terminations.
  • Conducts exit interviews where necessary.
  • Maintains current knowledge of HR-related laws, legislation, and trends. (Ex: FMLA, ADA, HIPPA Health Care Reform)
  • Ensures compliance with State and Federal reporting (EEO-1, OSHA 300 log, AAP, OFCCP)
  • Assists with reporting and management of online tools; Maintain HR data in HRIS system
  • Manages worker’s compensation claims process and reporting
  • Participates in salary surveys, and analyzes data from survey sources to determine competitiveness both internally and externally
  • Designs and prepares ad hoc compensation and budget related reports for management.
  • Other duties as determined by Senior Manager, Human Resources

Skills & Responsibilities

Required Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s-level degree from accredited college or university (Human Resources field preferred)
  • 5+ years HR generalist experience with capacity for greater responsibility
  • Call Center, Business Process Outsourcing and/or large organization experience required.
  • Strong understanding and working knowledge of Human Resources administrative policies, procedures, regulations and State/Federal legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
     
    Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Demonstrated ability to work professionally and discreetly with extremely confidential information
  • Human resource experience in a global or international company preferred
  • Strong communication skills; ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Strong project management skills; the ability to organize, set and manage priorities and meet competing deadlines
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work both independently and in a team environment
  • Strong follow-through skills and ability to be the driving force behind the completion of multiple projects
  • Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and judgments on sensitive, confidential issues
  • Familiar with navigating and researching using the Internet and social media platforms as well as email and intranet applications
  • Strong analytical skills and attentive to detail
