Software Engineer I -- Intern

Job Description

Overall Purpose

This position develops, tests and maintains software product applications for online transactions and batch processing applications for new, existing, or enhanced products.

Essential Functions

Develop, test and maintain high volume, high performance, high availability, online transaction and batch processing applications in the appropriate programming language.
Comply with all security policies and procedures, to ensure that the highest level of system and data confidentiality, integrity, and availability is maintained.

Required Experience

Minimum Qualifications

Education and experience typically obtained through completion of a Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems or related field
Effective communication and interpersonal skills with emphasis on written and verbal communication skills and documentation practices.

Strong object-oriented analysis and design

Approved background and drug screen is required

Depending on assignment, knowledge in:

C# language skills, SQL Server

Java language skills, Linux

All positions require knowledge in:

OOA/OOD skills

All positions benefit from:

Development and Architecture Experience

Knowledge of appropriate database schema design

Experience with Subversion source code revision control

Additional related education and/or experience

Physical Requirements

Working conditions consist of a normal office environment. Work is primarily sedentary and requires extensive use of a computer and involves sitting for periods of approximately four hours. Work may require occasional standing, walking, kneeling and reaching. Must be able to lift 10 pounds occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently. Requires visual acuity and dexterity to view, prepare, and manipulate documents and office equipment including personal computers. Requires the ability to communicate with internal and/or external customers.
