The medical coordinator works under the direction of the Medical RN/LPN to respond to pyschiatric client concerns about their medications. This involves researching problems that arise, interact with pharmacies, funding sources and other stakeholders to resolve the problems. The medical coordinator performs routine clerical and administrative tasks necessary to resolve these issues, and documents all of their activities in accordance with JFCS policies. The medical coordinator may also engage in patient education and support activities.
Must have a medical assistant certification/diploma. High School diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years direct with one of the following: behavioral health/medical/pharmaceutical health experience or an Associate Degree in related field with at least 1 year of full-time direct with one of the following: behavioral health/medical/pharmaceutical work experience. General knowledge of behavioral health disorders; general knowledge of psychopharmacology; excellent written and verbal communication skills; and detail oriented required. .
